What happens after I apply online?

After you have submitted the Online Admissions Application, allow two business days for your application to be processed.

When do I need to Re-Apply?

  • Students who have missed one Fall or Spring semester do not need to reapply to register for the next semester.

  • Students who have missed consecutive Fall and Spring semesters must reapply to register for the next semester.

What is my Student email account?

Your student email account will be the official method of communication between you and College of the Desert.

  • Your username + @mycod.us is your email account.

What is WebAdvisor?

WebAdvisor allows Students to access their information online. It is where you register for classes, drop classes, add to a waitlist, view a class schedule, view placement test scores, view financial aid information, check your balance, submit payments, print an unofficial transcript, and check grades.

How do I reset my MyCOD Password?

You use the MyCOD Portal to reset your password.

What is CANVAS?

Canvas is our learning management system that allows you to communicate with your peers, stay informed of upcoming due dates, submit assignments and more.

Once you register, access to your course will be available as follows:

  • Between 6 AM and 12 PM, processed by 2 PM same day

  • Between 12 PM and 7 PM, processed by 9 PM same day

  • Between 7 PM and 6 AM next day, processed by 8 AM the following day

Please note that you may not be able to access your course(s) until the first published day of your class.

What is this MOOC Course on Canvas?

Students who have not received a passing grade in a Math course, will have our Math Massive Online Open Course (MOOC) on their Canvas Dashboard. This on line course is not required and is free of charge.

The Math EDGE MOOC is the online offering of the EDGE program, and the best news is that you are already enrolled in it. The MOOC contains practice exams and learning materials to help you score higher in the placement exam.

If you have already taken the placement exam and are not content with your score, you could retake the placement exam for an opportunity to place into a higher math class if you complete some of the material in the MOOC.

If this is not applicable to you, please ignore this free online course (you will not be able to remove it from your Canvas dashboard).

How do I request my Transcripts?

The easiest and fastest way to order your COD transcripts is online through the Admissions Site.
